Today I heard a bird.
It called to me from a distant branch,
A voice untainted from the world around.

Today I heard a bird.
My heart healed upon its chorus,
A song of silent words that bound its joyous spell.

Today I heard a bird.
The rays of the sun danced in tune,
As the bird and its kin increased my awareness.

Today I heard a bird.
I wept inside for the things I'd lost,
Whilst the future pointed to the things yet gained.

CJB Notes: This poem came to me whilst I was on a country walk. I was not having a great morning. Then all of a sudden I heard a bird singing in the distance. It really was a magical moment that captured my attention and made me feel better. So much so, I had to write this poem to "try" and capture the moment for others to experience it. The print design follows my usual technique of letting AI create an image based on the poem words. I then take that first base image (in this case it was a large bird standing on a branch) and manually reconfigure it to an abstract image that just "feels" right. If you look closely you can see the impact of the template bird throughout the design.
