It makes everything feel right even though it feels wrong, 

Harming myself gives me power and makes me strong, 

With every cut I call to the great unknown to listen, 

To hear silent screams and see fresh tears glisten 

This is my time - my moment - there's no cause for alarm 

If only I knew how to stop craving self harm.

CJB Notes: This one is personal. I know someone who has self harmed and they mean more to me than my own life. Self harm is devastating to everyone, even those not harming themselves. This poem and artwork were both made from the heart to raise awareness about self harm and to let people know there is hope, there is a future, one that doesn't have to mean happiness 100% of the time but enough of the time to make life feel worthwhile.
