Lantern

My eyes cannot focus anymore

Or is it my mind?

I feel - no - I don’t know what I feel

What thoughts have I left behind

I wish I could believe in things

Enough to make me know

Whether it is today or tomorrow

To be able to let the sadness go

Did you just see that?

It was a light outside my mind

I see it again between the doubt

I sense it is something kind

The light has grown so clear now 

My focus on it is sharp and strong

I suddenly feel alive and so complete

YES - Something greater than all of us

Shines a lantern of hope upon my feet
